Luca Polare Website Backend
Laravel backend by ABOVE Digital for Luca Polare's Georgian–English website: admin panel, menu, branches, news and vacancies.
Challenge
Luca Polare opened in 2008 as a small 20 m² ice-cream shop on Leselidze Street in Tbilisi, with around 12 flavours. Today it is a chain of café–ice-cream parlours in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kobuleti, Rustavi and Kutaisi, with a branch in Baku, making up to 60 kinds of ice cream from Italian recipes and natural ingredients, alongside coffee, tea, cold drinks, cakes, breakfast and lunch.
The website's design was created by another company, which later stopped supporting the site. Luca Polare needed a backend built on top of that existing design: one that keeps a large menu, with the ingredients, allergens, weight and calories of every product, the list of branches across several cities, company news and open vacancies up to date in Georgian and English.
Solution
ABOVE Digital built the backend of lucapolare.com on Laravel, on top of the existing design. It includes a password-protected admin panel and the server side that delivers the site's content in Georgian and English.
It powers the menu, organised into five categories — ice cream, coffee and tea, cold drinks, cakes, and breakfast and lunch — where each product carries a description, ingredients, allergens, weight and calories, and the branches page, which lists the cafés by city with their addresses and directions.
The same backend serves the news on the homepage, such as the opening of the second branch in Baku and the scholarship programme for student employees, and the vacancies page, with openings in Tbilisi, Batumi and Rustavi.
